Tangerine Dream - The Vintage Years Anthology

This is a great box set, very much worth the $30 to 40 bucks. The blood red vinyl contains some greatest hits, and they are classic pieces...an extremely well arranged record. The two secondary records are also very much appreciated. I love music of The Ones, and this was my first time to hear them on vinyl....great rock! The not-so-rare-anymore-thanks-to-tons-of-reissues record of Ultimate Thule is still always great to listen to on vinyl. The box itself - a little flimsy, so take care of it but overall, this is a great purchase. It would definitely be a great way to introduce yourself to Tangerine Dream if you've never given them a listen, but also a great way to revisit some classics if you aren't the most illustrious TD collector.

Last winter, a man contacted me to get a rare Tangerine Dream bootleg. Student, he missed a concert, in Reims’ cathedral, it was imperious for him to get a copy, so many years later. After many searches, I found the CD here, on Discogs, he was the happiest man in the universe. After this, Alain and I became friends. His Tangerine Dream collection is very important, one of the biggest I’ve ever seen. So many years dedicated to get rarities, promos, posters etc… Many of us are totally mad with this passion. Recently, Alain was keeping the bed all day, listening his favorite band, waiting for packets full of precious collectors. The Vintage Years Anthology was the latest, he died on monday, at the age of 50. He left a wife, a dog and a treasure. For me, Alain’s memory is definitely connected to Tangerine Dream.
