seriously beautiful record - cloudface does it again!that floating, submerged and colourful 'sound signature' that cloudface has always had really shines here.like a lot of good records, these tracks make you lose sense of time; five fully immersive, drifting cuts with the edges smoothed off - they feel like they're made especially for you.my particular favourites are:- 'j p' - who knows what the titles refer to but this one is gorgeous - a blue, melancholy kosmiche transmission. on some records these shorter ambient tracks might feel like an afterthought but this one fits right in.+ the two tracks on the b-side:- 'w w i' embodies that submerged, aqueous sound signature - a nice meeting of the 'vancouver sound' with a hint of that downbeat, introspective mood James Stinson worked into his tracks produced under his Transllusion & The Other People Place aliases.- 'baby j' maybe takes the mantle - wow! is there a more stunning track out there at the moment? the slowly shuffling patter of the drum machine and those sweeping but floating pads really elicits something deep in me - intensely emotional, almost overwhelmingly so, bringing to mind good times with close friends, quiet moments with someone you love, or maybe even welcoming a newborn child into the world. just beautiful..like i said - the tracks feel intimate, personal and warm - easier said than done, but cloudface has made easily among the finest records to have come out this year, and does so effortlessly. honestly - don't miss this one!
Sincerely the best review I've seen on discogs in a very long timeYou perfectly sums up the feelings I have while listening to this wonderful EP and add very constructive elements that forced me to have a deeper listening to the the B2 which is now in repeat Nice one Sam
I'm only at track A1 & I am in heaven. D.S.R. is the master of the sound I love- thank you! Low tempo, raw, analogue house music. Bouncy synths & crunch beats. This is virgin landscape for your ears; take it is- 360 degrees!
cloudface does it once again. . . 5 dollopings of thick warm soup to stimulate that cabbage between your ears
One of the pointiest reviews ever published on the internet
